Author Guidelines

Manuscript Submission

Submit your manuscript to the associate editor via e-mail at Editor@nejsr.org, along with the following items:


  1. Submit a Word version of your paper titled “Primary Document.”
  2. Submit a separate title page with the full title of the paper of up to 90 characters, names and affiliations of all authors. Provide the full address, including email, and telephone of the corresponding author. Provide the name(s) of any sponsor(s) of the research, along with grant number(s) if relevant. 
  3. Include an abstract of no more than 250 words. See the APA publication guidelines on how to format an abstract (APA, 2010, pp. 25-27). 
  4. Include up to five keywords that describe your paper.  

File types

  • The preferred formats for the text and tables of your manuscript are .doc, .docx, .rtf, .ppt, .xls. Figures should be provided in .tiff.  

Accepted Manuscripts

  • If your paper is accepted for publication, the person identified as the corresponding author will be contacted to sign license agreement. A processing fee of $275 is charged for all accepted papers. DO NOT pay any fee until your paper has been approved for publication. The processing fee is non-refundable.
  • Processing Fee Waiver: NEJSR pays a processing fee to third parties to format accepted papers. NEJSR does not endorse any vendor, product, or service. If you can format your paper or hire a third party to format it according to the journal’s requirements, the processing fee will be waived.
  •  Copyright and Permissions: NEJSR publishes papers under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International Public License (https://creativecommons.org
    /licenses/by/4.0/legalcode). Copyright on any paper published in NEJSR is retained by the author(s). Authors grant NEJSR a license to publish their paper (s) as the original publisher. If a manuscript contains extracts, graphics, or any parts, from other copyright materials, it is the author's responsibility to obtain written permission from the owner (s) of the materials.   
  •  Original Work: Submission of a manuscript implies that it contains original unpublished work and is not being submitted for publication elsewhere at the same time.      

English Language Editing

  • If English is not your first language, you may want to have your paper edited before submission. This will increase the probability of acceptance of your paper. We do not provide editing service

Manuscript Style

  • English is the language of this journal. Follow the publication manual of the American Psychological Association (APA) writing style guide for all manuscripts (i.e., text, tables, figures, and reference list). For detailed information on this guide, visit www.apa.org.  
  • Typeface for your text should be Times New Roman, with 12-point font size (see American Psychological Association, 2010, p. 228).

Reference Style

  • Follow the publication manual of the American Psychological Association (APA) writing style guide for all manuscripts (i.e., text, tables, figures, and reference list). For detailed information on this guide, visit www.apa.org. You can purchase a copy of the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association online via any bookstore of your choice.   
  • Every reference cited in your text must be included in the reference list (and vice versa). If you did not cite a reference in your text, it should not be included in your reference list. See the APA guidelines for personal communications, personal letters, telephone calls, and other material that cannot be retrieved online.
