Submitted manuscripts will undergo editorial screening and, when advanced for review, independent scholarly peer review before an editorial decision.
Review Model
NEJSR uses double-anonymous peer review. Authors and reviewers do not receive each other's identities through the review workflow.
Manuscripts advanced to external review normally require at least two confirmed reviewers. Reviewer invitations use a seven-day response period, and accepted reviews normally have a twenty-one-day completion period.
Reviewer Conduct
Reviewer guidance addresses confidentiality, conflicts of interest, methodological assessment, constructive feedback, and professional conduct.
