Submission Guidelines

Use these guidelines to prepare a manuscript for submission to NEJSR.

Before you begin

Confirm Journal Fit

Manuscripts submitted to NEJSR should address a topic within business or management and should use a systematic review or related evidence-synthesis approach that fits the journal's approved manuscript categories.

Submission package

Files and Information for Submission

NEJSR uses a double-anonymous peer-review model. Authors must upload two files to complete a submission: a separate title page and an anonymized main manuscript.

  • Required: Title page with author and affiliation information
  • Required: Anonymized main manuscript
  • Optional: Cover letter
  • Optional: Applicable reporting checklist
  • Optional: Search strategy
  • Optional: Figures and images when submitted separately
  • Optional: Supplementary materials and datasets

Required declarations and metadata are completed in the OJS submission workflow rather than uploaded as separate files.

Manuscript structure

Organize the Review Transparently

The exact section structure may vary by review design. Authors should present enough methodological information for readers and reviewers to understand how the evidence base was identified, screened, appraised, analyzed, and synthesized.

01

Title and Abstract

Identify the topic and review design clearly. The abstract should summarize the objective, methods, principal findings, and implications.

02

Introduction

Explain the management problem, existing knowledge, review rationale, and research question or synthesis objective.

03

Methods

Report the search, eligibility, screening, extraction, appraisal, and synthesis procedures appropriate to the review design.

04

Results

Present the included evidence, study characteristics, synthesis results, and review flow in a form appropriate to the method.

05

Discussion

Interpret the synthesis, limitations, implications, research gaps, and contributions to management knowledge or practice.

Author information

Authorship and Identifiers

Submission records should identify each author, institutional affiliation, and author order. ORCID identifiers should be provided when available.

Policy approval required

The journal will publish a formal authorship policy before production submission begins. The policy will define authorship responsibilities, contributor information, and any use of contributorship statements.

Declarations

Disclosures and Research Statements

The submission workflow is planned to collect structured declarations that support transparent scholarly reporting.

  • Conflicts of interest
  • Funding information
  • Data availability statement
  • Ethics statement when applicable
  • Artificial intelligence use disclosure when required

Policy approval required

Final declaration wording and applicability rules will appear after the related policies are approved.

Files

Prepare Submission Files

NEJSR will support Microsoft Word and PDF where appropriate. The production workflow may request editable source files before an accepted article enters final publication preparation.

The title page and anonymized main manuscript are the only required upload files. Authors may provide a cover letter, reporting checklist, search strategy, supplementary materials, datasets, figures, images, or other supporting files when relevant to the submission.

Peer review

Peer-Reviewed Publication

NEJSR uses double-anonymous peer review. Submitted manuscripts first undergo editorial screening. Manuscripts advanced to external review normally require at least two confirmed reviewers. Reviewer invitations use a seven-day response period, and accepted reviews normally have a twenty-one-day completion period.
